I asked my friend “What is the most touristy thing to do around here in Bogotá?” Her response was to head off north to the Zipaquira to visit the Salt Cathedral. So that is what we did. We decided to make a day trip of it, which is very common for people who visit Bogotá. The town of Zipaquira is filled with a lot of small cafes that quaint and filled with great traditional Colombian food. But the real attraction is the salt mine that was converted into an underground cathedral. The amazing colors in the area make it an amazing place to visit.
