Salento – Eje Cafetero

People always ask me if I prefer the mountains or the beaches. I usually tell people I prefer the small fishing villages, and then I went to Eje Cafetero region of Colombia. The area is known for all it’s coffee plantations where it’s world famous coffee is produced. When I was traveling through Eje Cafetero I have never felt so in touch with nature and so calm and serene.

This is Salento, a small village south of Medellin. It is has a small town village feel where time just stands still and you can just feel like there is not rush to go or do anything. You can sit down and sip a coffee then climb up to the view over looking the region. This is the view you can see, and then just relax.
